Tamil Eelam Football Association (TEFA) was created in 2012 with the help of the NF Board and participated in its very first tournament, the 2012 edition of the VIVA World Cup. TEFA would not be possible without the hard work and will of individuals who made this happen. The NF Board provided an avenue for TEFA to participate in the Non FIFA world by letting it participate in the VIVA world Cup in Kurdistan, making dreams of many Tamil Eelam Football players and fans a reality.

TEFA is not politically aligned as its purpose is to further develop and foster the game of football in Tamil Eelam and it’s diaspora. Its purpose is to have Tamil Eelam known throughout the world through football and share Tamil Eelam’s ancient and beautiful culture, history and traditions.

One of the goals of TEFA is to help it become a member of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).

TEFA will to continue to participate in Major tournaments and matches to make Tamil Eelam and TEFA known throughout the world.
